Telekom Slovenia Group above expectations in the first quarter

Ljubljana, 30 May - Business results of the Telekom Slovenia Group and its subsidiaries for the first quarter of this year were very good and above plans. The group created EUR 187.2 million revenues, which is one percent more than in the same period of last year. EBITDA increased by 13 percent to EUR 80.9 million, while the EBITDA margin was 43.2 percent, which is 4.4 percentage points higher. EBIT was also eight percent higher, rising to EUR 35.9 million. Compared to the same quarter of 2007, net income increased by 3 percent to EUR 23.7, surpassing the quarterly plan by three percent.

Telekom Slovenia Group is marked by intensive investment activities. For investments in fixed assets (construction, network and service upgrades and development) EUR 37.9 million were allocated, which positions the group once again among the largest Slovene investors. Telekom Slovenije allocated EUR 21.3 million for investments, Mobitel EUR 9.1 million, and the subsidiaries in South Eastern Europe EUR 7.2 million. The financial investments in this period include the acquisition of the 70 percent share in Aneks in Bosnia and Herzegovina for EUR 5.7 million, the acquisition of the 75 percent share in AOL SP of Albania for EUR 2.5 million, and an increase of capital in Ipko of Kosovo in the value of EUR 13 million.
